Day 3 | Saturday, 9 July 2016
| | | |
Estimated Duration: 9:30 - 13:00 (Meeting Point: Calle Marqués de Santa Cruz)
| | | |
This hiking trip will consist of a short route called ‘Ruta de Las Xanas’, which follows a mountain path along the Las Xanas (‘fairies’) gorge. The starting point is a 25-minute bus ride from Oviedo and it is about four kilometres from start to finish, with an ascent of 375-500m. It is a gentle enough climb, with some great views and scenery in a short space of time. Taking it nice and easy and enjoying the views, it takes little over an hour and a half. At the end (pick-up point) there is a small, picturesque Asturian village called Pedroveya, which has a bar/restaurant where everyone can have a drink or snack before getting back on the bus to Oviedo. The idea is to leave Oviedo reasonably early (say, 09:30) so that participants can have lunch in the city or catch a possible early afternoon flight (we can comfortably be back in Oviedo by 13:00). Meeting Point: The bus for the hiking trip on Saturday morning will pick participants up at the bus shelter on Calle Marqués de Santa Cruz at 09:30. This is just a few metres from the conference site. We will be sending further information in advance of the workshop. |
